Travelling
Text 1
- why most people like travelling;
- which season is the best for travelling in your opinion;
- what means of transport is the best, and why;
- what your attitude to travelling is
Well, I am going to give a talk about travelling.
I’d like to begin by saying that today we can’t imagine our life without travelling. Nowadays, people have lots of good reasons to travel. They benefit from travelling in many ways. It is very interesting to visit and discover new places, towns and countries. It’s always amazing to try local cuisine, to listen to unusual musical rhythms [ˈrɪðəmz], to visit ancient castles [ˈkɑːsəlz], to go boating on a river, to take part in local festivals and events [ɪˈvents].
To my way of thinking, most people like travelling because during trips people get unforgettable impressions, meet new people, learn about their lifestyle, customs and culture. Also, travelling is a good way of recreation and escape from daily routine.
I’d like to continue by saying that every season is good for travelling. Winter is a wonderful season for sports. A lot of people go to the mountains and visit winter skiing resorts. In my opinion, spring is the best time for making coach tours, especially abroad. In March and April a lot of European towns are full of flowers whereas in Russia is still cold. Summer is the hottest season and people try to get away from the city and go to the seaside. Autumn is the best time to go to the country because there are a lot of mushrooms and berries in the forests.
As to means of transport, each one has its pluses and minuses. As for me, I prefer travelling by air because it saves time and very comfortable. You can reach any destination point within hours.
I’d like to say that my attitude to travelling is quite positive because it is the best way to relax, broaden horizons, practice foreign languages, taste local cuisine and to find new friends.
That’s all I have to say about travelling. Thank you for your attention.

Moreover, people who travel a lot can learn many things which they didn’t know before. They see something new and explore the world. Some people prefer to visit as many countries as possible. They visit places of interest, museums and national parks. While the others, prefer to go to the mountains or to the seaside with nothing to do but relaxing.
I’d like to continue by saying that I’ve already visited a lot of interesting places. Undoubtedly, I would like to visit The Kremlin, The Red Square and St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. Also, I would like to visit the Baikal because Lake Baikal is famous for its amazingly clear water and beauty.
I’d like to say that my attitude to travelling is quite positive because it is the best way to relax, broaden horizons, practice foreign languages, taste local cuisine and to find new friends.
